At Justin Trails Resort it makes perfect sense, with 213 acres, suites and separate cabins give plenty of room for all guests. The healthy menu of Justin Trails Resort includes specially blended granola, yogurt, fresh fruit or fruit sauce, muffins or scones, a hot entrée, juice, milk, coffee or tea, hot cider or hot chocolate. Breakfast is served in the dining room for guests only or may be delivered to your suite or room.Pull on your hiking shoes for a round of 18 basket disc golf. The course has elevation changes, concrete tee boxes, a water hazard; some tees are open, some through hickory, walnut and oak forest. The course meanders across great vistas and through a secluded valley. In winter, the white wonderland is groomed for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or snow tubing, skijoring and dog sledding. Lessons, ski & snowshoe rental are available in the Lodge. In warm seasons, 20 miles of trails are mowed for hiking and mountain biking. Choose a short, easy hike to Dawn’s Pond or stretch up the hill to Gerry’s Peak. In any season, access these trails right out the back door. Located near the famous Elroy-Sparta State Bike Trail, The Great River Trail, La Crosse River Trail and the “400” trail for a total of 104 miles of biking or hiking on crushed limestone surface. Sparta, Wisconsin is the western end of the Elroy-Sparta Trail and the headquarters for the La Crosse River Trail. Bike rental and shuttle service is available from Speeds Bike Shop in Sparta, WI. Canoe or kyak the La Crosse, Black, or Kickapoo River. Rent a boat in La Crosse for a cruise on the Mississippi River. Fish on: Perch Lake, Lake Neshonoc, Lake Onalaska or Coon Creek in Timber Coulee. Coon Creek is the most productive trout stream in Wisconsin. Naturally we create joy with qualtiy lodging and recreation in a secluded coulee. Your pet will thank you for including him/her in your travel plans. Respecting guests with allergies, we have hardwood floors in all accommodations that clean easily and thoroughly. There are miles of trails for hikes, mountain bike rides or bring your own horse to ride the trails or choose the quiet surroundings for naps. If you do not have a pet, George and Heidi, our white Siberian huskies, will be happy to be taken on a walk by you. Pete, the pygmy goat will prance around for your entertainment. Dusty and Rusty, the llamas will enjoy a snack from your hand. (available in the mailbox next to their pen) or take them for a guided llama trek. All of our pets have their own homes. None of our pets live in guest areas or our apartment. Bring your binoculars and camera. Climb the hill to the enclosed wildlife viewing stand. Perched twelve feet in the air, you can quietly spy on squirrels, birds, hawks, deer and turkeys. Find the other viewing stand just off a snowshoe trail. Stroll through three acres of gardens with perennials that begin blooming in March and continue through October. Select a plant(s) to purchase for your own garden. Donna will pot them for you. Numerous couples have been compelled to create wedding plans during their visit to Justin Trails Resort. We host weddings of fewer than 200 guests for the ceremony, reception or both. The large silver maples, various pine trees, and yews make beautiful backgrounds for wedding photos. We have a large open field for a tent and grassy parking area. Best of all, book the whole resort for a quiet, private intimate space for you and your wedding guests. Approved as a Travel Green Wisconsin participant, our personal and innkeeping philosophy is to be sustainable and environmentally sensitive. We have found new use for several farm buildings, selective harvest our 150 acre woodlot and insist on maintaining the strip cropping to prevent soil erosion on 70 acres of cropland. We grow our food and gardens organically. Our recreational offerings are human powered—disc golf on two 18 basket courses, hiking, mountain biking, or bring your own horse. In winter there is groomed cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowtubing, skijoring and dog sledding all right out the back door. Equipment rental is handled in the Lodge. Fly in. It’s an easy drive through the Coulee Region via I-90 to Justin Trails Resort located just 45 minutes from the La Crosse Municipal airport (LSE). Car Rental is available from Avis, Hertz and National Agencies. If you are a NASCAR racing fan, La Crosse Interstate Speedway is only twenty minutes away. The Grand National Tractor & Truck Pull is held in nearby Tomah, WI. Nearby Viroqua is a growing, stimulating community with a Waldorf School, Viroqua Food Cooperative, and Main Street Station public market. Folks of many artistic persuasions are finding culture in the Driftless area of Southwest Wisconsin. The largest Amish community in Wisconsin is located in nearby Cashton. Down a Country Road Gift Shop and Tour Service provide excellent first hand information on Amish traditions and gift items. Book a tour with Kathy or use our informal map for a road trip on your own. Baseball fans can catch a La Crosse Logger game in Copeland Park, La Crosse. Watch from a new log cabin decorated with leather furniture from Ashley Furniture Company. The La Crosse Loggers are members of the Northwest League. Parents visiting students or touring college choices will find nearby La Crosse is home to University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Viterbo University and Wisconsin Technical College. The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a short drive away through winding country back roads.
